SKAHA Vineyard 2017 Cabernet Franc
Tasting Notes
Unbridled notes of blackberry, dark cherry, enhanced layers of roasted coffee, vanilla and
spice finishing with hints of dark chocolate and sweet oak.
Pairing:
Brilliant served on its own or pair with pork and apple sauce or a vegetable lasagna.
Winemaking:
Grapes were harvested by hand, destemmed ,whole berry, cold maceration
of 3 days. Wild yeast fermented and allowed to warm up to 28C during
primary fermentation with regular punch downs to extract maximum flavour
and colour. Pressed and transferred to french oak barrels then goes through MLF
and aged for 24 months .
Viticulture:
SKAHA Vineyard is nestled above Skaha Lake in the beautiful
Okanagan Valley. Steep slopes of shale and fossilized sandstone
with lake influences encourage our vines to concentrate flavours
in the ripening grapes resulting in elegant, fruit forward wines.
